Dinner with Friends
By: Donald Margulies
Directed by: Pat Kight

What happens to two married couples - best friends for years - when one of
the marriages breaks up? Donald Margulies'
2000 Pulitzer Prize-winner brings intelligence and spiky humor to an
all-too-common circumstance of modern life, creating
a deeply affecting story that resonates with life, warmth and wisdom.

Cast of Characters:
Karen and Gabe (late 30s): Wise-cracking, magazine food writers who love to
travel, eat and entertain. Their own marriage
suddenly comes in question and their insecurities surface with the breakup
of their best friends.
Beth (late 30s) and Tom (early 40s): She's an activist, he's a well-off
lawyer. Their comfortable marriage is shattered and their
assumptions about themselves challenged when Tom reveals his deep,
years-long unhappiness and demands a divorce.

Actors need not be the ages specified, but should be able to convincingly
play them, and also to play the same characters 16 years
earlier in a flashback scene. The rehearsal schedule can accommodate holiday
conflicts. Contact the director at kightp at peak.org,
or 541 926-4044, if you have questions.

PERFORMANCES: January 11, 12, 13(m), 17, 18, 19, 2008
