Thank you Al & Mary for hosting our meeting!  There was lots of great food
from everyone and we made some progress on the plan too.

 

NW Caravan:

Part of the group will be going with the:

Lee & Patty

Tom & Barbara

Ray  & son

Clive & Brenda (?)  - I think I heard they planned to go with the NW Caravan

 

If you plan to join the NW Caravan you need to be registered with them ASAP.
By the end of the year for sure so the captain can include you in all the
details and plan for you at events along the way.

 

 

Alternate Route:

The remainder of those who have said they are going so far, plan to take the
alternate route.  It was decided at this meeting that we do not want to join
the caravan at all since the logistics of gas, restrooms and food seem
off-putting.  Plus several members do not want to be on the freeway or
travel through the big cities (Lincoln NE, Columbia, MO, etc).

Tuesday August 19: 

Head to bend in the afternoon or evening to make the trip to Boise the next
day shorter.

 

Wednesday Aug. 20: 

Bend to Boise

Thursday Aug 21: 

Boise to Jackson Hole, WY

344.39 Miles

6 hours 8 min

 

Friday Aug 22: 

Jackson Hole WY past Grand Tetons and through ¾ of Yellowstone Grand Loop to
Cody WY

230.34 Miles

6 hours 23 min

 

Saturday Aug 23: Cody WY to Crazy Horse SD

373.62 Miles

6 hours 32 min

 

Sunday Aug 24: Crazy Horse to Mt Rushmore to Huron SD   Via Hwy 14


340 miles

6 hours

 

NOTE: I think we may need to revise some or all of these last 3 stops again.
To avoid Interstates, the last leg is about 9 hours Driving.  

 

Monday Aug 25: Huron SD to Rochester MN via Hwy 14

308 miles

5 hours 45 min

 

Tuesday Aug 26:Rochester MN to Hannibal MO via Hwy 63

346 miles

6 hours 20 Min

 

Wednesday Aug 27:Hannibal MO to Bowling Green

338.5 miles,  6 hours  (on Interstate 64 right through St Louis, MO)

410.47 Miles about 9 hours on highways
