Subject: ACA Coastal Kayak Instructor Class

Good Morning,

There are several of us who are interested in having ACA Coastal Kayak Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) and Instructor Certification Examination (ICE) in the Newport area this summer. I'm contacting you to see if you have an interest in participating and/or if you know of anyone who might like to be in the class.

We would be bringing an Instructor Trainer here which would make it a lot more convenient than having to go elsewhere for the training. Mike O'Bryan and I had to go to Trinidad, CA, and few other workshops are even available on the West Coast. Information about becoming an ACA instructor is available on the ACA website: www.americancanoe.org.

Generally the IDW workshop is three consecutive days with an interval of a month or so before the ICE exam which is also typically three days long. The Instructor/Trainer charges $300/trainee for each the IDW and ICE or $600 total. We would need a minimum of 5 trainees, although more would be preferable.

If you are interested please let me know within the next several days; let's say [by] the 25th. If there appears to be enough interest I'll try to identify the dates that would best accommodate both the trainees and the instructor.

Regards, Tom Murphy
