[Osta-board] Another science star becomes a Rose Fest. Princess

Good evening, board members,

     Here is another neat science student who has been elected to 
represent her school in the Portland Rose Festival.  Shani Plunkett de 
la Cruz was selected last month as Roosevelt High School's Rose 
Princess.  She had a chemistry internship last summer at the University 
of Portland with Sr Angela Hoffman.  In 2011, Shani was a volunteer 
hostess at the American Chemical Society's western regional conference 
at the Red Lion Hotel on the River.

     Shani joins St. Mary's Sim Kaur and Cleveland High's Annelise 
Cummings as outstanding science students who are involved in the civic 
activities of the Portland Rose Festival!

     Today's Oregonian newspaper features newly crowned Rose Princess 
Sim Kaur stating, " Oh, I love Chemistry"    Way to go Moe and St Mary's 
Academy science department ! ! !
