[Osta-board] Sponsors needed for the Awards Banquet

Good morning, Board members,

     We are searching for some sponsors to help cover the costs of the 
OSTA Awards Banquet at next October's NSTA Western Regional Conference.  
If you know of any person, company, or friends who might be able to help 
us, please send their names to Lori Lancaster, <lancaster.ld at gmail.com>, 
or me.

    The awards breakfast that WSTA hosted at the NSTA Seattle Conference 
cost $45 per plate, an outrageous amount for any teacher to pay (or for 
OSTA to cover the comp'ed awardees!)

    Please talk to reps from any companies who you might deal with.  
Science supply people, science book salesmen, Insurance, car dealers, 
real estate agents, Les Schwab, US Bank, etc.  Lori would like to get 
this event funded by the end of this month or else she may cancel it.

    Partial sponsorships are possible.  $5000, $2000, $1000, $500, $250. 
The Celebration of Excellence in Science Teaching in Oregon and 
Washington is scheduled for Thursday evening, October 24th, at the Loyd 
Center DoubleTree Hotel.

    Your efforts are appreciated!  The sponsors will be well recognized 
at the conference as this is one of the highlights of OSTA's 
participation in this Portland showcase.
