My name is Lesley Shapiro and I am a doctoral candidate at Northeastern
University. I have made two attempts to contact the Oregon Science Teachers
Association through the communications at oregonscience.org email address but
both times I have received out of the office responses.



My doctoral research is on high school science teachers’ receptivity to the
Next Generation Science Standards and the factors that influence
receptivity. I would like to know if it is possible to disseminate my
survey through the Oregon Science Teachers Association listserver.



I have attached Northeastern University's Institutional Review Board
approval to this email. I have a recruitment email that has already been
approved by the Northeastern University IRB. I have pasted the email below
so that you can view the survey.



The purpose of this study is to identify and compare the factors that
influence high school science teachers’ receptivity to the curricular
shifts necessitated by the adoption of the Next Generation Science
Standards (NGSS). This study follows an explanatory sequential mixed
methods research design. The data from the survey, which I am requesting
permission to disseminate through the Oregon Science Teachers Association
listserver, will be analyzed using SPSS, a statistical analysis program, to
test a quantitative model.
