Assuming their engines are well-kept and modern there isn't any more 
pollution than your typical automobile.  Many of the newer marine 
engines have the same emissions systems that a car has.  Unfortunately, 
they aren't exactly regulated and most of the custom boats aren't going 
to bother adding the complexity of emission control.

The carbon pollution from their engines under normal operation isn't 
really significant enough to concern me personally.  Of greater concern 
is the errosion of river banks caused by boat wakes, noise pollution and 
any pollution as a result of a crash.

Fortunately, there is unlikely to be enough jet boat traffic on that 
section of river to cause any issues.
